This week I attended Health Datapalooza in Washington, DC. A great conference with session topics related to -- well, DATA. But not just BIG Data as we see in most healthcare journals and posts. I am thinking I didn't see the word BIG at all, although I may be blocking it out at this point since it seems too BIG to contemplate. Sessions I attended focused on digital innovation for under served healthcare populations, cost transparency, updates on the state of AI in healthcare, and consumer empowerment. I left the conference with a renewed faith in the brain trust that surrounds this industry and with the demonstrated daily efforts of this collective brain trust -- whether academic, public, or private -- to make health care high quality, affordable, and accessible to all.
